The 31st annual John Ragone 5k and East Brunswick 10k races will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Crystal Springs Aquatic Center on Church Lane & Dunhams Corner Road in East Brunswick, NJ.
In addition to the 5K and 10K races, we'll have a 1 mile fun run and fitness walk and "Pumpkin Dashes" for children ages 2-10.
Countdown to race day:
In an effort to shape a healthier future for the community, the township of East Brunswick has designated October as "Family Fitness" month. To support this initiative, the Raritan Valley Road Runners in conjunction with the East Brunswick Department of Recreation & Community Services are hosting these races.
This unique small town event was established in 1978 to help promote fitness and lend support to local non-profit organizations. We anticipate several hundred runners to race through the tree-lined neighborhoods of East Brunswick.
Non-runners and families can also enjoy the festivities by entering the 1-mile fun run/fitness walk. Our Pumpkin Dashes for children ages 2-10 round out the day with over 75 smiling kids running around the baseball fields.
These races are part of the Brunswick Cup series. Proceeds benefit
Camp Daisy, which provides education through recreation to children and
young people with disabilities, and the East Brunswick Rescue Squad.

The John Ragone 5k is now part of The Brunswick Cup. This is a series of 5k (3.1 mile) races throughout
all four Brunswick areas - New, North, East, and South. It occurs from May through November and is open
to runners and walkers of all abilities.
The Brunswick Cup celebrates participants who complete 3 of the 4 races in the series by rewarding them with a commemorative cup. Trophies are awarded to the top 3 overall / masters (male / female) with the lowest cumulative time from 3 of the 4 series races.
