Camp Daisy
The Daisy Association Mission Statement
The Daisy Association is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to assist and advocate for special needs children and adults and their families in East Brunswick, New Jersey and the surrounding communities. We provide ongoing support to the East Brunswick Daisy Recreation Program, which is a recreation program for handicapped children and adults. East Brunswick Township provides an outstanding program for people with all different types of disabilities at all different levels.
Exceptional staffing and attention to the individuality of each participant are some of the hallmarks of the Daisy Recreation Program, but could not be provided without the support of the Daisy Association. There is a Tuesday night bowling program, a Thursday night socialization and recreation program, an all-day Saturday program, and a summer camp.
The association enhances what the program offers by providing funding for extra programming and staffing, trips, sleepovers, the Girl Scouts, and other needed supplies and special events. In 2004 we installed The Donna Lamo Davis Memorial Playground, a fully accessible playground in the backyard of the Daisy building in Bicentennial Park. On a regular basis we provide funding for the Saturday program to go swimming, bowling and to the movies each month. We also offer scholarships to our programs for families in financial need.
It is through the kindness and caring of generous supporters that our special children and adults continue to receive much-needed recreational and social programs in our community and for that we are truly grateful.
